Dental implants are a popular cosmetic dentistry option that dental experts use to replace one or more missing teeth, in order to restore that smile you’ve always wanted. At Gallery Dental, dental implants are one of our most popular cosmetic dentistry practices, and we find it useful to educate our patients on the practice. So that’s what we’re doing with this article. Below, we will talk about the main benefits of installing dental implants, and whether or not it’s a good idea for you.
One of the major concerns that our patients have expressed about getting dental implants is that the implant will feel a little weird in their mouth. Well, we’re here to tell you that’s simply not the case.
Sure, the dental implant may feel a little strange at first, largely because you are used to a gap where the implant now is. However, this will only take a few days’ adjustment time, after which you won’t even notice it.
Another question we get asked a lot is – will a dental implant stick out, or will it look like a natural tooth? A lot of people are worried that getting dental implants is a noticeable intervention that will draw unwanted attention to their mouth.
The good news is, your dental implant will look like any other tooth, so no, it won’t stick out. Now, of course, if you suffered from big gaps, or several missing teeth before, people will notice the improvement to your denture, but in a good way, rest assured!
As we age and lose our teeth, this can cause a sunken appearance to your face. This is why it’s particularly important that you replace missing teeth with an implant in good time, so as to support the proper bone growth and development of your face.
Many people worry about having to replace their dental implants on a regular basis, but that’s not often an issue, actually. When cared for properly, a dental implant can last you the rest of your life, so you don’t need to worry about having to replace your implants on a regular basis.
One of the main issues with missing teeth is that it’s a problem that limits the foods you can eat. This can naturally affect the quality of your life. On the upside, dental implants do not pose that problem. With a dental implant where your missing tooth was, you can enjoy all your favorite meals without worrying, since a dental implant is stable and solid.
At the end of the day, only a qualified dental professional can tell you whether or not you need dental implants. But yes, in many cases where one is missing one or more teeth, dental implants can be a great and cost-effective solution!
